Starting fees for 2002 OSS events reduced by 25 percent
Toronto, April 26, 2002-The Ontario Horse Racing Industry Assocation (OHRIA) has announced that starting fees for the upcoming 2002 Ontario Sires Stakes season have been reduced by 25 percent.
Starting fees for Grassroots, Gold Eliminations and Trillium Series events will be 1.5 percent of the added money, down from 2 percent in previous years. There are no starting fees for the Gold Finals, Super Finals, Grassroots Semi-Finals and Grassroots Finals.
The total value of this year's Ontario Sires Stakes is estimated at $20,000,000. Since the beginning of the 2000 season, OSS purses have been increased by $7 million.
